Phishing Attacks

Awareness:

Phishing involves cybercriminals sending fraudulent emails, messages, or links to trick users into providing sensitive information like passwords, credit card details, or social security numbers.

Solution:

  1. Recognize Suspicious Emails:

    • Look for grammatical errors, unusual email addresses, and a sense of urgency (e.g., "Act Now to Prevent Account Deactivation").
    • Hover over links to check if they redirect to an unknown domain.
  2. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):

    • Even if your credentials are compromised, MFA adds an extra layer of security.
  3. Avoid Clicking Unknown Links:

    • Verify the sender's identity before clicking on links or downloading attachments.
  4. Use Anti-Phishing Tools:

    • Install browser extensions like Norton Safe Web or PhishTank to flag suspicious links.
